A life is a work of art and service to others as they give back to us at the same time is what makes us social, a society and a civilization.

It’s how we treat each other, what we do for each other.

Service to secure our nation against enemies who would do us harm is a necessary and demanding element of preserving and protecting our civilization.

Only the trivial or traitorous among us act otherwise.

We cast out those who betray this sacred trust — out of the family that makes us a democratic nation.

In our family, we celebrate those who gave of their time and risked their lives so that we could have a life of freedom and fulfillment.

Every family has someone or knows someone who has served as best they can.

You can‘t lead America if you don’t embrace this truth as the ground of our being as a nation — that we risk to preserve and protect who we are — and give hope to the rest of the world for the character we daily demonstrate among we the people.
